Windermere continues to grow into a vibrant community just 38 km’s from Melbourne’s CBD – with over 1,135 lots titled and around 2,400 residents calling Windermere home, it’s exciting to see our neighbourhood flourish.
Twain Road Park is now open and ready to explore. This stunning park offers a wide range of activities for all ages. Whether you are taking a peaceful walk, going for a jog or cycling, there’s plenty of space to enjoy. For families, there are picnic areas and open lawns where children can run around and play sport.
The park also features modern play equipment for younger children, offering a safe and fun environment. With approximately 100 trees, 3,200 shrubs and expansive grass areas, Twain Road Park not only provides a relaxing outdoor space but also enhances the natural beauty of Windermere. The park is designed to promote both physical health and mental well-being, making it a central hub for the community.
We’re also busy with landscaping across Stages 17-21, including a new north-south linear trail. This trail will eventually stretch across the estate, linking three parks and the wetlands, enabling more space to explore.
Windermere | Construction Update | Nov 2024
Exciting activities are happening in Stage 26. A brand-new park is being built next to Renwick Crescent. This 1.2-hectare reserve will be a colourful open space for everyone to enjoy. Residents will be able to access the park from Benmore Street and Produce Drive, and it will connect with the larger trail network at Windermere. The opening is anticipated mid-2025.
Construction is also moving forward on Stages 22-27, with completion expected by the middle of 2025.
Earlier this year, Laa Yulta Primary School opened its doors, welcoming the first students. The school is designed with modern learning spaces to create a comfortable and stimulating environment for children from prep to Grade 6.
Each classroom is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including interactive whiteboards and flexible seating arrangements, allowing students to engage with their learning in new and exciting ways.
The school also includes air-conditioned and heated classrooms to ensure students are comfortable year-round. Outside, there are shaded playgrounds and sports areas providing safe spaces for children to play and stay active. The school can accommodate up to 650 students, making it a key part of the growing Windermere community.
