Education is a top priority

To help the growing Windermere population obtain a great education close to home, a combined kindergarten and primary school plus a childcare centre will be centrally located along the estate’s recreational spine.

Black Forest East Primary School and Kindergarten (BFEPSK temporary name) are located at 10 Elementary Road, Mambourin (back of the Windermere sales office) and will open on the first day of Term 1 in 2024. Up to 650 students can be enrolled when completed for students in prep to Grade 6.

Jason Buckland, Senior Development Manager at Risland comments, “Education is the cornerstone of growth for any young person. We have strategically placed a combined kindergarten and primary school plus childcare centre in key locations within the estate as well as helped facilitate early construction of these amenities. The schools will become important gathering places for our families and provide vital education, conveniently located on the doorstep for residents.

“All of the new schools will link with a network of cycle and walk paths to enable children and families to walk or ride to school to promote an active lifestyle. All of Windermere’s recreational amenities will be surrounded by 23 hectares of active open spaces.”

“Our community is home to over 1800 people, with this figure set to double within the next five years. Many of our purchasers are young families and couples planning to start a family. Careful attention has been given to designing a family friendly community that has plenty of facilities to enjoy,” he added.

BFEPSK will comprise an administration and library building, three learning neighbourhoods, community hub with indoor multi-use court, canteen and arts/music spaces, hard courts, sports field and carpark.

Students will have great modern learning areas with airconditioning and heating, while outside shade sails will provide sun protection.

The kindergarten and primary school are beside each other to make the transition easier for families and to help them manage drop-off and pick-up times.

A childcare centre, aptly named Ubright Early Learning will be located on the corner of Callaway Street and Ingalls Road, accommodating up to 134 children. Construction is expected to start in July with a 12 month completion time frame.
